These were messages I took from several Promise Keeper Conferences I have attended. My prayer is that this song would encourage other men to attend these conferences. Men, we cannot isolate ourselves and expect to grow in our faith and become better husbands and fathers. We need to be encouraged and held accountable. I encourage every man to attend a PK Conference. It may change your life. Once you have attended look to share this blessing by encouraging other men to attend.

Men of Promise

The evening air is electric as the band begins to play,

Men by the thousands stand to praise Your name.

Tears begin to flow as Your mighty Word is spoken,

Convicted by our countless sins, hardened hearts are broken.

Brothers of every color and creed are urged to cleanse their minds,

To reconcile their prejudice and leave all sin behind.

Hope for this nation lies in the hearts of men,

No matter their denomination nor the color of their skin.

Make us men of promise. Fill us with your love.

Lead us through this fallen world, focused on Your Son.

Change our lives forever. Help us understand,

If we humbly seek Your face, You will heal our land.

We commit ourselves to walk the path that the Spirit will make known,

To sacrifice our personal plans in favor of God’s own.

Too often we place our needs and wants above His Holy Plan,

Forgetting that blessings flow to us from obeying God’s commands.

If we overcome our fears and surrender it all to Him,

Then will we know the joy of walking with our King.

We’re called to go home and serve our daughters, sons and wives.

To demonstrate the love of Christ each day throughout our lives.

To give our testimony to others who are searching,

And offer up ourselves to those less fortunate and hurting.

Only then will Jesus’ love spread throughout the earth,

Only then will people know “What an awesome God we serve!”

God has called his army into this spiritual war.

Warriors of our Lord and King, victory is assured.

We must take the sword, that is God’s word, and seize our destiny,

And fan the flames of faith, and love, and claim our victory.
